Now that he's back in the high 90s, are we still worried about his velocity?

Never was. :dunno:

He had the same "problem" last year, and was fine.

The thing about Jenks is that he's still an effective pitcher even without all the velocity, he doesn't need the overpowering 100 mph to get guys out. That's just icing on the cake. He's not just a one-dimensional fireball closer type.

But now that he seems to have his stuff back, no need to be worried anymore (for those that were). But it makes me wonder what took him so long to get back there. It's not the first time it's happened.

It's common for high velocity throwers to take time revving up their arm. Things are well with Bobby. :D:

2007: Not enough cheeseburgers.

Bobby just needs to reach a state of cheeseburger equilibrium.

I wasnt worried about his velocity to begin with because his 'hooker' is almost impossible to hit even with a 90 mph fastball. That hook is nasty, the fast is just 'gasssss'

I'm more happy that Jenks curve appears to be back, earlier in the year he wasn't really close to the zone with it. Yesterday it had that same nasty snap to it and he was catching the corner with it.

that what it is all about with Bobby if hitters know he is not getting his curve over his fastball 100mph or 92 is gonna get hit it all about his getting his offspeed stuff over the plate

Exactly. That curve he was throwing yesterday was nasty. The 96 mph fastball he blew by Figgins is the cheese, but the 92 is still effective after that curve.

The only problem I see with Jenks are the "fans" that "think"
that if he throws more than 9 pitches and doesn't strike out the side
with those 9; Bobby has lost it and we're doomed.

I agree, those "fans" should relax and get back from the edge of the cliff.

Agreed. We have a bull**** thread about Jenks practically every time he allows a baserunner. It's ridiculous. I have faith in Jenks.

He has his velocity back and has only blown save (and Pods helped him out a bit there)...obviously he's not perfect, but he's getting the job done and that shuts me up.
