what are the chances Gio gets called up to AAA if he continues tearing it up in AA? I would like a September callup but he'd only be called up to start and he'd only start if someone from the staff was injured or the Team was already way out of contention. With the way he's been pitching I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls a John Danks and skips right past AA and starts for the team in '08. Although, I'd really like to see his control against major league hitters because I don't think the AA hitters have that good of plate discipline and might be swinging at a lot of pitches most major leaguers would take easily.

Danks started 13 games in Triple A last year.

I'd like to see Gio in Triple A before pitching for the Sox because I'd like to see him prove he can keep the ball in the yard there before coming to the Cell. More than anything though, I really like this kid and I hope the Sox take their time with him.

Great game so far for BA tonight...3 for 4 with an RBI triple.

Can't say the same for Gio though. 3.1 IP, 9 hits, 9 runs (8 earned), 3 BBs, 4 Ks, 1 HR allowed. His ERA ballooned all the way up to 3.98 after tonight's outing. Ugh.

Another good offensive effort from Andy Gonzalez. Anyone know his story?
