"First and foremost, I mean, I want him to stay with the White Sox. If I had a choice and he had his choice in an ideal world, we'll be here. We are both comfortable and have a house, have friends and know our way around. From a comfort level and a professional level, we want to stay here."- Jamie Buehrle

A moment that made me proud to be a Sox fan too:
And then there was a moment from the past Spring Training, when Jamie was watching her husband pitch in a "B" game from the somewhat uncomfortable metal bleachers near the Minor League back fields. Manager Ozzie Guillen promptly moved Jamie into a chair near the coaches and media behind the backstop.

This is just way too positive for this week. Phil Rogers said Buerhle is leaving so it must be true. Resign yourself to the fate!

I don't even know what Jamie looks like, but I think I have a crush on her.

I sure hope they're staying. Mark has made it clear he wants whats best for him and his family, so maybe in part he'll take a few less bucks to stay with his baseball family.

Yet he turned down a nice contract that would set him up for another couple of lives after this one at the ASB last year. The Buerhle's can say all they want to say about wanting to be here, the bottom line is they want to go where the most money is at.

They live about a mile away from me.... I don't blame her for liking it in that community

Once you have a contract that's like 40 million dollars, I never understood what was so important about having like 5 more million. Especially if you love where you're at and it makes sense for the family and what not. Once you're a millionaire I think that should be sufficient.

I don't know if you're married or not, but my guess would be "not." Most married people I know--at least those who are still married!--work as a team. So he most assuredly will listen to his wife.

Well, this is nice and all, but if the Sox keep on tanking, there's going to be a lull at the gates. If there's a lull at the gates, there's no way they can fork out the Benjamins for Buehrle.

In summary, win some damn games, Sox!

A million is nice, but it won't send your kids to Harvard or allow you to live really well. You need at least $5M to really get over the top these days...

Almost every time I was at Coghill (my sister's wedding was there, so I had a number of trips dropping stuff off) I swear, Jerry was there after a round of golf. They serve a pretty good lunch, too.
