This might be the worst free agent signing of all time

ARLINGTON - Carl Pavano could be headed from the trainer's table to the operating room after shutting down his latest bullpen session because of pain in his right elbow.

Pavano, Hampton, Wood, and Prior would remind people of Baltimore's famed 4-man rotation in a simulated season.

OUCH

So, Roger Clemens will be making almost $9,000 for every pitch he throws this season, but at this point, thatís likely a relative bargain for the Yankees.

New Yorkís oft-injured investment, signed to a four year, $39.95 million deal prior to the í05 season, has thrown just 1,704 pitches (1,552 in í05, only 152 this season) over the course of the deal. Thatís a neat little sum of $23,444 per pitch the Yankees have devoted thus far into Pavano.

Pavano is the luckiest man on earth.

They are making him go to a 4th doctor to get his arm checked to make sure he's not faking it. Pavano is a joke.

It is possible he will be out for all of the 2008 season. Amazing. Will he ever pitch again?
