I was going to take a road trip down to St. Louis to catch a Cardinals game and I was wondering if anyone has any advice they could give me about the stadium and or the area right around the ballpark. Also any info on parking and any other intricacies about the park would be very helpful. I have been doing some research on my own but the park has so many different seating options I am a bit confused. Thanks in advance.

I was there 2 weeks ago. I bought Standing Room Only tickets at the window for either 12 or 13 bucks and was able to sit in a handful of different sections/vantage points for a couple of innings at a time. It was a packed house, but with so many people mingling around it was not a problem. I parked about 5 or so blocks away in a garage on 10th Street for around 6 bucks (It was a day game--not sure about nightime prices). Nice place. Not my favorite, but nice. When the ballpark village is complete across the street it will be a much better experience. Right now its a huge empty gravel lot.

I did notice their outfield concourse to be ALOT like ours, just with a few more fancy touches. The atmosphere and layout are pretty similar.

If you want to park downtown in a garage cheap and not have a hassle getting out of it there is a parking garage on 7th st. just North of Pine St on the Right. $5 and only about 3 blocks away straight north of the park. Cardinals Official Garages are $20 (on N.east and N west corners of Stadium)

The park is also on a Metrolink (light rail) stop. Lines can be long but you can park for free across the river at the Casino Queen and ride to the ballpark for pretty cheap.

Around the ballpark....There is a indoor/outdoor Hooters 2 blocks North. Mike Shannon's Bar and Restaraunt is 1 block north. Al Hrybosky's Ballpark Saloon is a block south of the park on the other side of Highway 40 (I-64). A short walk to the North East takes you to Lacledes Landing which has a large portion of the city's night life. Morgan Street Brewery (on the landing) has awesome ribeye steaks! Most people from St. Louis say to drive to the Hill and try out one of several Italian fine dining establishments.

St. Louis style pizza SUCKS (Imo's pizza) compared to Chicago style so don't bother. Toasted ravioli however is quite something.

There are 2 Casinos nearby, however I'm not a fan of the President's Casino on the landing.

If you have time St. Louis has 2 good brewery tours, A-Busch and Schlafly Bottleworks (which also has great food) Personally Schlafly is my favorite St. Louis brew.
