Given the track record they have had with the Knicks and Rangers most baseball fans should be overjoyed about this possibility

April 28, 2007 -- Not satisfied with controlling the Knicks and Rangers, Chuck and Jimmy Dolan have their eyes on a bigger prize - the Yankees.
The ruling family of Cablevision and mercurial collectors of New York sports franchises smell blood in the Bronx water - with the team's hierarchy thrown into disarray when George Steinbrenner banished his heir-apparent son-in-law from the ballpark

If that's the case then Bye Bye Yankees, for at least the next 20 years. Although, since there is no cap in baseball, they might not fail as badly as everyone would expect them to.

Spending money doesn't equate success.

Almost every NYC team is an example of that. And the Cubs and Redskins as well.

Eventually, even a blind squirrel finds a nut. I mean, if you keep spending money on bad players, then your team will suck. But on the other hand, if you spend on good players, eventually they will be good right?

:?:

Timing is everything.

This is a staggering number

While the Yankees grossed $302 million last year, the team actually lost $25 million because of revenue-sharing provisions and baseball's luxury-tax penalty on teams with high player payrolls.
YES, however, is valued in excess of $2 billion by Wall Street analysts.

Read it this morning, and the Yankees won't win for awhile. A long while.
