He pitched 3 shutout innings, but didn't come out for the fourth due to a strained groin.

It's tough watching him get hurt all the time. He has so much talent, he just can't stay healthy.

Most oft injured Pitchers list:

1) Hampton
2) Prior
3) Sheets

:violin:

This sucks for the Brewers, if he could have stayed healthy they would have had a good chance at the division.

You can add Halladay and Schmidt to this list as two of the best who just can't stay healthy. It's such a foregone conclusion with Kerry Wood, he doesn't even get mentioned anymore.

True, Mike Hampton is by far the most injured of them all. When was the last time he pitched in an official major league game?

Quick check of baseball-reference shows his last decision came August 19, 2005.

And another player on my fantasy team hits the DL.

Not that anyone here cares, but he is a free agent after 2008, so maybe the Sox can sign him for nothing and Coop and Herm will turn him around and make him win 20 games a season.

Sheets is listed as day to day, and is probable for his next start. Obviously nothing serious.

I'm curious as to why you think that about Halladay? He has averaged 200 IP for the last 5 seasons. I don't know about how many injury problems he's had but I know that one time he got smacked by a comebacker, those are just flukes.

He seems to be on the DL a lot; I'm surprised he's thrown that many innings. Maybe it's all those 10-inning complete games!
