Coming from a discussion I saw on TV regarding some silly A-Rod trade idea...

What is the most absurd trade idea you've ever heard, where the person suggesting it is being completely sincere. Media, friends, whatever.

A couple of years ago I remember someone mentioning "Shingo for Derrek Lee".

The most absurd trade ideas are ones thought up by complete morons, who are mathematical traders; they think that if you trade two or more bad players (Neifi Perez, Manny Alexander) you can get one good one (A-Rod or Jeter).

My money's on any Cub fan's suggestion of Jacque Jones for anyone on the Sox' 40 man roster.

Sometimes those work. IIRC the Nats traded Gary Majewski, Royce Clayton, and a couple relief prospects to the Reds for Austin Kearns and Felipe Lopez.
