A Mets fan pleaded not guilty Sunday to trying to temporarily blind an Atlanta Braves pitcher and shortstop with a high-powered flashlight during a game at Shea Stadium.

I remember years ago when Wrigley used to have center-field seats every now and then someone would use a mirror to try to blind opposing hitters with sunlight.

In other words, the history of fans behaving badly at The Shrine goes back a ways. :D:

He won't get a year. In fact he won't get any time, although I am not as familiar with NY law as I am with Illinois. I am assuming it is not too much different. It's just like a class A misdemeanor here. That ranges from hitting someone with a water baloon as you drive by (and if the person who gets hit wants to press charges for battery) to a DUI. He'll get probation and community service. That would be great to see him spend some time behind bars though. Send an example to all those types of idiots out there. Morons.
