How do you know? It is policy not to release the substance a player tests positive for.

I guess I don't know for sure, but a few lines from the article lead me to believe that it was not for performance enhancing drugs.

There were 37 suspensions under the program last year - 32 for performance-enhancing drugs and five for drugs of abuse.

I'm assuming that the drugs of abuse would have to be recreational drugs, unless there is another option that I'm not aware of. The first paragraph states that he was suspended for a drug of abuse.

Maybe because the article defines seperate infractions for "drug of abuse", which is the one he was caught for, vs. "performance-enhancing drugs" ?

"Drug of abuse" sounds to me like the recreational use drugs, like cocaine, weed, etc.
