Manos' Diary and "hopefully"

I don't know if this has been posted, but here is the link to the Valentin's diary entry on chisox.com.

Spring is supposed to a time for optimism, but I am struck by the fact that the word "hopefully" is used 4 times. Is this a bad sign?
