MLB has told the umpires to play this afternoons game between the Red Sox and Mariners somehow........
The weather is simply brutal and I expect 30,000 no shows

Ehh, what's a few ice pellets...
Reminds me of the old peanuts cartoons where Charlie Brown would stand on the mound in the middle of a downpour and ask "where's everyone going? It looks like it might clear up!"

IF they do play you will be amused that Boston will be wearing green uniforms.
It is Red Auerbach Day at the park

Seattle comes here August 10-12. Cancel all outdoor and warm weather plans that weekend.

They are wearing green so they will be easier to spot against the white grass:wink:

Red Sox officials today at 4:21 called today's game against the Mariners scheduled for a 4:05 start due to inclement weather and the forecast for a wintry mix of snow and sleet.
The game will be made up May 3 at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for today's postponement will be good for the make-up date.

Looks like Seattle (which has a domed stadium) holds this years record so far for the most postponed games.

Haha, that 9 pm comment brings back memories of the game the sox had rained out there in '05 that they ended up having to make up on Labor day, the game that McCarthy shut them down. That was hilarious when they kept saying "it's going to clear up, there's a window that we can get it in at," and then when it cleared up they called it and didn't finish it and made the sox interrupt their long homestand to fly to boston for a day.
