FYI......
ESPN will be broadcasting our game on June 4 vs. New York. Game time for that date has been set for 6:08 p.m. CST.

WHITE SOX-TWINS GAME RE-SCHEDULED FOR JULY 6

CHICAGO The Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins game postponed by cold on April 6 has been re-scheduled as part of a split doubleheader on July 6.

The first game of the split doubleheader will begin at 1:05 p.m. The second, regularly-scheduled game begins at 7:11 p.m. The games will have separate admissions.

Fans who had tickets and parking passes for the April 6 game were asked to retain those tickets, which now are good for the re-scheduled 1:05 p.m. game on July 6.

Tickets still are available for both games on July 6. Fans may call 866-SOX-GAME or visit whitesox.com to purchase tickets.

Both games will be televised by Comcast SportsNet and broadcast by WSCR Sports Radio 670 AM.

Not that I had tickets, but just out of curiosity, are you able to trade in the tickets from the PPD date for another date, or are they only good for July 6th?

If so, that kind of stinks.

I believe you are able to trade your tickets for another date or use them for the makeup. Ewok probably knows the definate answer to this question.

Surprised they're doing a day/night on a Friday. That should be traffic hell.

Yeah, but I'm still surprised they're doing it on a Friday, as opposed to a Saturday. I suppose the traffic will be rough either way.

Saturday is a 2:55 p.m. Fox broadcast game. When do you fit in a second game?

We'll just have to make sure Ozzie's mom is here by Thursday to start cooking her killer chili!

So will they require all the cars to be cleared out of the parking lots between games?

All the Full Season and Hit & Run Season tickets holders who ordered parking passes will have red parking passes for both games. It would be good if they designated a lot (Lot B!) for those folks who have parking passes to both games so they could either tailgate for 3 hours or take the L into the City for the Taste of Chicago.

great question.

3 hours of tailgate in between games would be awesome !!!

I can't see them telling somebody who is going to be at both games that they have to leave and come back. I also can't see a bunch of people tailgating between games while the lots are emptying out...... I bet there will be a "no tailgating until 5:30" rule for the 2nd game or something of the sort.

My rep tells me both parking passes will work. So I assume this means either one is good for the whole day. If that's the case, I might as well sell one of them. He said he would know more later, so I'll hang onto both for now.

There's really no logical way around having everyone leave and re-enter.

I think the parking attendants will have to work to separate those who are going to be there for 2 games or just one.

If not, it's going to be difficult for them to find out how many open spaces will be left in between the cars that are staying

If game starts at 1P it will probably be done by 4P. There is no way to completely clear those lots in time by 5P (when the lots are scheduled to open for the 7:11 game.

This is going to be a mess.

Maybe they could designate a certain lot for people who plan on attending both games and tailgating in-between?

That could work for the cars, but they really have no options with people in the park that I can see.

What do you mean? I think they are physically going to have to sweep the park, check the bathrooms, and make everyone leave and then re-enter through the turnstiles.

Ok. I thought you were refering to the parking lots, and I thought Jerko was refering to that too.

I don't think clearing out the stadium will be a problem. Clearing out the parking lots of 10,000 cars so people can drive around the block and come back would be impossible and a nightmare to try to execute.

Yea he probably was referring to the parking lots. I just suck at reading comprehension.

Just out of curiousity, what happens if in a double header the first game goes into extras and the game doesn't end until around 5. Is the second game still scheduled for it's normal time at 7 or pushed back to let players rest?

I've seen less time than that between doubleheader games. Two hours is plenty of time for the players to rest. They won't be taking any BP before the second game anyway. They will probably go downstairs, change clothes, get some food and rest up until stretching before the 2nd game.

Normal doubleheaders, they take 30 minutes between games.

FYI, I emailed my ticket rep to see if tailgating will be allowed between games and she said the decision on parking procedures will be made by next Tuesday. She's supposed to email me when she has the details. I'll post again when I hear from her.
