From the Tribune:
The Sox are still scheduled to play a three-game series at Cleveland even though showers and snow are forecast for Saturday and Sunday. Miller Park could be available, since the Brewers are scheduled to play a three-game series in St. Louis.

This would work perfectly for me. I'm supposed to be in Milwaukee on Sunday. Now I might be able to squeeze in a Sox game too!

The temps are supposed to be a lot better Friday and Saturday. They'll be in Cleveland. If anything, Sunday's game gets postponed.

I can't imagine the Tribe would agree to that. I think they were more inclined to do it with LAA since they Angels aren't coming back to Cleveland this year. Since the Sox have multiple trips to Cleveland, they'd rather not lose the gate and lose home field advantage (really lose it since Milwaukee would have a huge Sox fan contingency up there).

I'm guessing they will keep it in Cleveland and try to get as many games in as possible. If not - they can stack the games up in July or September when we go back there.

Is it possible the series could be moved here? That would seem to make more sense than Milwaukee.

The odd thing is that we were just musing the other day about how we have'nt played a series at Milwaukee in ages, and how it would be nice if we eventually had a series there sometime soon (next year?). The bad thing is my weekend is packed and I wouldn't be able to make it to Milwaukee. Dang!!

The Sox and Indians play a day game on September 12, and they both have an open date on September 13. They won't be going to Milwaukee this weekend.

edit: my bad. that series is here. They still have time later to make up a game or two in Cleveland.

No, I doubt it would ever get moved here. Cleveland wouldn't want to give us any extra home games. They'd be upset enough at losing their own home games by playing it in Milwaukee, but it's better than playing in Chicago.

Not that we can't dream...

It's just a couple of hours at a baseball game with a roof just over the border. You won't even be aware that you're in Wisconsin. It's not like you're being forced to move to Wausau or Minoqua for three years.

The roof doesn't do all that much though. It can only raise the temp 30 degrees, so you would still have to wear a coat and breath in the Wisco air.

From the MLB Tribe board (FWIW):

It's looking like the tribe will be staying in it's new Milwaukee home throguh the weekend with the sox.
Being up here in milwaukee, I have my ear to the ground with several insiders in this process, so far here is what I have confirmed:
1. A car sale by a local dealer has been moved from the Miller Park parking lots to State Fair parking lots to make room for the use of the Miller Park.
2. The Milwaukee Police Dept has recived requests to staff Miller Park for crowds between 30,000 to 42,000 Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
3. A friend that works for the Pfister Hotel tells me that the room for the Indians have been book through Sunday, he also reports that another of his companies hotels the Hilton is holding room for the Sox for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
I have an inside source with the FSN sports crew and he is checking in to the status what satellite trucks they have book for the uplink, he thought that the truck currently at Miller Park was listed through Sunday night.
Early work has it that on Thursday at 4:00 PM central time ticket sales for the Sox series will go on sale. It is delayed to start after the end of the game being played Thursday at 12:05...

This would be great if true, but I'd have to think that if it was, the White Sox would know about it, and one of the beat writers or reporters would have said something. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

I don't think any of this is true, but not for this reason - I think they only limited the number of tixs because they didn't expect to get any people. Yesterday, they opened the outfield in the third inning due to the crowds.

The question for Cleveland and MLB isn't the fact that the White Sox are an opponent who plays there many times there during the year, but if all 3 of these games are cancelled, it will be difficult on the team to have to make up 6 games during the season at this point.

The Indians have seen the weather reports for Cleveland this weekend, so they know what they're heading home to.

But they're heading home, nonetheless.http://cleveland.indians.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070412&content_id=1894600&vkey=news_cle&fext=.jsp&c_id=cle

Couple of things of note...
The Indians are considering the possibility of moving the start time of their 7:05 p.m. ET Saturday game to 1:05 p.m. to avoid bone-chilling conditions in the forecast for that night. And, Ozzie being Ozzie...
But the club won't be taking the advice of White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, who told reporters this weekend's games should be moved to his native Venezuela.

There is no way these games will be in Milwaukee.

Not if the Indians can help it. That would pretty much have them turn 3 of their home games against a main rival into essentially "home" games for the Sox. The Indians would still have last at-bats, but Milw. is so close to Chicago that the crowd would be overwhelmingly Sox fans.
