Phillips wasn't scheduled to start, so this isn't exactly surprising.

Did the Sox call up someone given the sudden demand for relievers?

Haeger was scheduled to start tonight, but Phillips started instead. Not sure if it's official, but I'd probably think that Haeger would be sent up if he didn't go today.

If Haeger was called up then who would be sent down? Brian? Wild guess here, but I don't think Haeger's coming up probably just a coincidence.

BTW, has anybody heard anything about Ray Liotta or Ryan Rodriguez?

What, only 2 years? Bah! I had Lucy as an honorable mention in my Top 10 prospects list way back in Sept. '04 (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=497303&postcount=1). I gave an eyewitness report on him the following Sept., and I'll see him again in about a week.

Maurice: I just re-read your souting reports for fun and got a major kick out of the one on Sean Tracey given the events surrounding his brief major league appearance last season:

8. Sean Tracey - RHP: A+ stats - 9 W, 8 L, 2.73 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 2:1 K:BB, 27 GS. He posted the best ERA among Carolina League starters not named "McCarthy," though it’s not reflected in his won-loss record. Tracey’s notorious for plunking batters, hitting a remarkable 23 batsmen in 27 starts.

Apparently he settled down to his detriment.
