For Dish Network Subscribers:

Dish Network now has a dedicated extension just for questions about the Extra Innings situation. (I just called them.)

At first you'll get a general customer specialist who'll give you whatever information they have. Ask to speak with an Account Specialist!

They will transfer you to that person who'll give you updated info.

They told me that Dish Network is still in negotiations and they think they are close to an agreement but not yet. They also do not have a time frame for a settlement.

I explained that I was giving them until Monday. If there isn't a deal I'm giving serious consideration to switching to DirecTV.

They offered to give me the MLB Extra Innings package FREE through May 11th if I would hold off and see what happens.

I accepted the offer but let them know that I still reserve the right to establish my own 'deadline' and do what is best for me.

Just letting you know what I know.

Yeah, I don't understand their offer, you would have it free until next Friday, but they still don't carry it or have no timetable, so it might not even be available until after?

Look at the date/time stamp on his post.

I think Lip threw DISH into the trash

The prospect of DISH Network reaching an agreement with Major League Baseball regarding the Extra Innings package no longer exists. Unfortunately, DISH Network will not be carrying the Extra Innings package for the 2007 baseball season.

Unbelievable.

I  hate  the MLB front office. Way to keep your fans happy. I'll never subscribe to anything from MLB or purchase anything directly from them ever again. The only dime they will ever get from me is through XM Radio.

My question is why was DISH Network the only one out in the cold with this whole deal? DirecTV and Comcast and Time Warner all offer MLB Extra Innings.

I don't follow it, but even before this I always took Dish Network as being really cheap. My grandparents have it, and they would have channels missing due to their contract disputes, scrolling messages that it was always the channel's fault and to complain at them, so I figure they didn't have much of a chance here

As of last Thursday I have DirecTV. Dish Network called and offered me ten dollars off my bill for the next ten months if I'd stay or come back. I said no thank you.

By the way the DirecTV folks told me the next marketing plan is to get exclusive satellite rights to the NHL Center Ice package.

Because Dish Network refuses to agree to the same deal everyone else agreed to. Like inDemand a month ago, they can have a deal done tomorrow if they wanted. Blame them not MLB.

That should be good for a dozen new subscribers.

charter cable was also stringing people along with guarantees of an agreement being imminent.
I had no problem with them but they gave me no choice.I had to switch from charter to direct tv.

Switched to Directv and glad I did. Dish Network is always blaming everyone but themselves. Good riddance.

That's too bad for both of the guys who are currently subscribing to Center Ice through InDemand.
