With Tampa sending him down and Iguchi being a free agent at season's end, what do you think about the Sox trying to get him for cheap? In 05 he had a very good season and last year was bothered by injuries then got reinjured when he rushed himself back.

.286 BA, .311 OBP in 2005.

In his career he has grounded into 45 double plays and has drawn 54 walks. That is absolutely atrocious.

He has no defensive skills, and a crappy attitude to boot.

You still want him?

Yeah, I love the D-Rays and thought Cantu was a nice talent. But in 2005 he did nothing but over-swing for some big power, which worked great that year, but teams caught on and have since absolutely zoned in on the weak parts of his swing.

If that's the case, then no thanks. (pink) Unless he's thrown in the Crawford deal where then Crawford is the LF and Cantu replaces Pablo then its OK.(pink)

Cantu.... canNOT!

No, we don't want a guy with hole so big in his swing that a 747 could fly through them. Also, house plant would play better defense than he plays.

Maybe a guy to scout and see how he responds to being in the minors and if he works hard.

From what it sounds like to me, he doesn't want to work hard in the minors. I'm fine with Iguchi. Does Cintron also play 2B? What about Mackowiak or Pablo?
