Let's discuss Opening Day and the games being played. What are you watching for? How are you enjoying the day? What games (besides the White Sox/Indians) are you watching?

This is my favorite day of the year, though it's a little less exciting without my Extra Innings package.

The game I'm looking forward to the most is the Twins-Orioles - a match-up of possibly the two top lefties in the AL, Johan and Erik Bedard. :gulp:

It's nice seeing the Blue Jays out to an early 3-0 lead over the Tigers. :yup:

I am pretty pumped. I actually listened to Dan Patrick coming home just to hear that annoying HR sound clip. Also different with Extra Innings, but ESPN is doing some games, so I'm going get MLB.TV (trial) after the Sox game. ESPN Radio was laughing that ARod made an error, and that the Yankee fans in studio were rooting for him to fail.

Detroit down early, woot

I'm "working from home" today and just might have the game on in the background.

I'm watching for a solid defensive effort and doing the little things on offense. We know the Sox can win when they're mashing th eball, but it's the games that you steal when you're not hitting that really make the difference.

Pitching and D baby - that's what I want to see!!

Hanley Ramirez and Miguel Cabrera are pretty good.

Hell of a start to the season for these three players.

Sheets pitched a complete game 2-hitter. If he just stays healthy, the Brewers are going to be strong contenders in the NL Central.

Renteria with a great start to the season with 2 HRs, including the game winner in extra innings.

And Ramirez goes 4-6 with 4 runs, 2 doubles, 2 steals and 1 RBI.

Adam Dunn with a nice start, too, going deep twice.

He's my AL ROY prediction. I'm buying into this guy's hype. I hope he pans out!

More importantly, Gload went 1-for-4 with a run scored. Bring back, Gloadie!

I hate the Twins. Back to back Morneau and Hunter.

I know we got spanked today but I still think we're gonna be ok.

This is their automatic win day: Santana in the dome. Let's see how good they are with Sidney Ponson on the bump.

sticking by my prediction that the Os will take the East, they've got the pitching, are strong up the middle, and have a balanced line up.

King Felix thoroughly dominates the scum laden A's with 12 K's, 8 shutout innings. He lost some weight and looks ready to become a Cy Young contender this season.

Sure, as long as it's not at the Cell. ESPN refuses to show the guy that runs on the field in Minny, didn't even want to make mention of it.

Yes, I am very paranoid and a believer in Sox conspiracies. Espn box scores today, Detroit park 107% full, Sox at 93% full.

Nathan nails it down, Twins win their opener. Sosa debut coming up next.

I was at this game. He set the tone for the game from the very first pitch. It was incredible to watch. He only got into trouble one time and even then he got out of the inning without allowing a run.

No idea how Tejada hit that homerun off Santana, that ball was below his knees. Good sign that Santana got a little roughed up.

Unfortunately, he typically gets off to slow starts but by July he's an absolute beast. Lets hope for a whole season of slowness, but I wouldn't bank on it.

That was a nice play by Matthews in the 1st (not as good as last year though), but then he went on drop an easy one. Lofton should have robbed one, was kicking himself after that.

Today is Peavy/Zito at 3, that should be good.

Looks like it isn't, too bad to, I'll have to take some looks at my computer screen for it.

It was, at least for me. Maybe not so much for Barry Zito or Giants fans...

Peavy went 6 strong, scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks and striking out 6. He had great movement on all of his pitches. Very nice first start to the season for Peavy. :bandance:

I can't believe that Gil Meche shut down the Red Sox(yes they suck, but still it as freaking Gil Meche) for 7.1 innings!
