Ok I'm sitting here watching the Cards and Mets with Jose Valentin playing for the latter. I'm sitting here scratching my head as to what the trade was that brought him here. I want to say it was Jaime Navarro for Valentin and Cal Eldred, but I just cannot remember.

Your right. That was the trade. Valentin was a huge upgrade over Caruso and the Sox got a great first half from Eldred. Getting rid of Jaime Navarro...priceless.

Yep, Snyder to Milwaukee, after he'd had his flash in the pan.

That has to be one of the greatest trades ever from the Sox perspective.

Christ, Navarro for two Milwaulkee brats with secret sauce would have been a great trade from a Sox fan's perspective.

Oct. 30, 2000- Jose Valentin granted Free Agency

Nov. 30, 2000- Jose Valentin signs with the Sox as a Free Agent

Nov. 30, 2004- Jose Valentin granted Free Agency

Dec.21, 2004- Jose Valentin signs with the Dodgers as a Free Agent
