If you could go to either the Home Opener or one Crosstown game (At the Cell of course), which one would you pick? I prefer the Home Opener. I think it is way more exciting. Just seeing the players getting called out to the foul line and seeing the video intro for the first time just gives me chills. Besides, I have noticed there is a ton of Cubs fans at the Cell.

Home opener.

Crosstown classic was cool in like 97, now I can't wait for them to get it off the schedule, with the rest of interleague (I know, won't be any time soon)

Home opener by far. The crosstown classic games are like being bombarded by buffoons. I have gotten to the point i stay away.

Home opener.

I still love the crosstown becuase its great entertainment and the games are always good, but nothing beats opening day.

Home opener! The crosstown classic seems to have lost its luster and importance. I wonder why?

I have never been to an Opening Day until tomorrow and I went to a crosstown classic game last year at the Urinal and I didn't like it very much. Everywhere I went I was bombarded by Cub fans (maybe this had to do with me sitting in the bleachers) I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, it can't come soon enough!

Well, to be fair...you were in their park.

Yeah, I'd imagine though that it would be the same environment or close to the same environment.

Home Opener....unless it's snowing. If it's like it was in '03, I'd prefer the warmth and the wrath of a Cub fan at the Crosstown Series to the blistering cold of an early April game.

Home Opener...I love the Crosstown Classic because regardless of standings ALL of those games feel important. But the Home Opener is, well, the Home Opener! It's a game where anything feels possible, regardless of how well we play in the season.

Home Opener, not even close.

Can I start a new thread about how it shouldn't be referred to as the Crosstown Classic?

Home opener. The off season is finally over, and I can enjoy baseball again. But, I do enjoy the Crosstown Classic because no matter how either team is doing in the year, those games at least feel a little more important than any other non-playoff deciding games in the regular season.

Definitely the home opener. It seems that all the fans that attend the Crosstown Classic are morons, and with the first home game of the season the crowd always seems super energized.

Slapping around the Flubbies will never get old.

I'd go to either one, since I've never been to either.

Home Opener......Cuba vs Sox series has lost some of it's luster.
I have a problem with the droopy hat idiots from the North Side acting like their team is something special.
No matter who they put out on the field or how much money they shell out they are still....well, we'll just leave it at that.
Again, Home Opener.

Home Opener wins in a landslide. I could do without a bunch of moronic alcoholic frat boys in either park. I see enough of types like that when I go to parties with people in my company, such as a combination houjse warming party for a buddy in my platoon and a going away party for another dude in the same platoon who has to go from here in Fort Carson, CO to freaking Alaska. Well, that's more misery piled on top of his rooting for the Scrubs :-).

Home Opener, this year is 22 in a row. As long as it's not 1991. Lots of energy and no frat boys.......

Home opener by far. The Cubs series are annoying and it is not just Cubs fans it is some Sox fans also.

I've been to some home openers, but when I was able to go to Sox games, I never went to a game against the Cubs (with the exception of a spring training game in Tucson where the opponent and outcome was irrelevant). I don't like what the presence of Cubs fans do to my enjoyment of baseball. It's bad enough that they used to show up to the Cell and cheer for the visiting American League team just to be jerks.

Home Opener - being around drunk guys who know a lot about baseball
Cubs Series - being around drunk guys who don't know anything

Home Opener BY FAR

Opening Day, no doubt.

Then there would be Game #1 of the World Series - that's a pretty good one to be at.

Crosstown Classic. The home opener is great but the atmosphere for the Cubs games is electric. Plus, I'm getting old and I don't like wearing a parka to a baseball game!

The old "crosstown classic" that meant nothing and didn't have a lot of starters sucked. But the 6 game interleague set is aweseome. If I could only go to either one of those games or opening day, I'd go to a Sox vs Cubs game for sure.

Well we can't help that since we tailgate 4 hours before gametime

Having been to both many times, I'd have to say the Opener, especially if it is the first game of the season. It's fun to hear all the predictions of success, how many HR's this guy will hit, how many wins that guy will have, and how many games the White Sox will win the division by.

Home opener. I've been to a couple Crosstown Classics and I'll take the opener any day. An added plus....there's no Cub fans there.:bandance:
