Was having a chat with my boss about baseball yesterday. He's a big Mets fan. He said he was real optimistic about the upcoming season, but the Mets have something like a 12-20 preseason record. I told him, "Yeah, you want to see your team win every game during the preseason, regular season and the post-sesaon, but I finally figured out there's virtually zero correlation between your record in the preseason with the regular season."

I went on to say I was pretty sure the White Sox had a below average preseason record before going on to win the World Series Championship in 2005.

<-- was there for Game 2

Anyway, where can I find the SOX preseason record from 2005? TIA.

espn.com Despite what people say about east coast bias, that website is very good for stats.

Stats, they're ok. Unbiased reporting? Not so much.

Henry Aaron once said of preseason records, "They tear them up."

As a footnote, the White Sox have an eight-game postseason winning streak. That isn't a record, certainly, but it is the longest active streak.

They were pretty ****ty in Spring Training last year too and they finished in 3rd place.

Meaning, ST results/history doesn't mean anything.
