Seeing the thread about Thunderstruck got me thinking. What is the video intro/starting lineup song going to be like this year? I loved how they did it from 2005-2006. I hope they keep it up. It was the best intro I have ever seen!!! If you guys know anything or where I can find out, please respond. THANKS!
Sorry for the mispelling. WHITE SOX.

F-18's? Wow, we've really moved on up in the world since winning that World Series. iirc, before that it was always just F-4's.

I hear from my sources that the song will be "You Light up my Life."

Thanks for telling me. Do you know the artist this song is by? I cannot wait to 4/4 (That is my first game of the season).

Actually, its the Blue's Brother's entrance theme. AJ will escort whatever pitcher to the mound, unlock the suitcase from the pitcher's arm, which holds the opening pitch ball and the pitcher's glove.

;)

That would be sweet! Let us just hope that any Cubs players interfere with this wonderful intro.

ok....."You Light up my Life" will be played every time the opposing closer blows a save because we lit him up..........that will mess with his head the next time we face him.

"Kiss him goodbye" got too old over the years?

Never! That is what we sing when the poor sap takes his walk to the showers.....(also, there is a reduced playing of it at night games now that Nancy has an early bedtime.)

**** the canned music. I want to hear Nancy play even when she isn't present at the game.

Agreed. Brooks, I hope you're reading this.

They play a recording of Nancy with crowd sounds recorded on top of it. I think they only adopted that midway through the 2006 season; prior to that they played "Leroy Brown" when an opposing pitcher got taken out during a night game.

Whatever the video is, hopefully it'd be short. We willingly risked missing opening pitch just to avoid watching/listening to that damn video last year. As a ST holder, you get really sick of it, really quick.

It's 162 games until the playoffs,
We've got a full tank of pitchers.

It's dark, and we've got fireworks.
Hit it.

Speak for yourself there buddy. I missed maybe 10 games last year and loved catching the intro. Towards the end of the season I didnt always catch it because I lingered in the parking lot but everytime I caught it though I got goosebumps.

I love the opening intro and watched it on youtube about 100 times during the offseason (that isn't an exaggeration either)

You guys are hilarious. To each his own! I'd rather spend that (it seemed like) 10 minutes taking my time and drinking another beer in the lot. :D:

I know the thread is a couple days old, but there was new info this morning on subject...

Brooks was on White Sox Weekly this morning and said that the intro is quite similar to last year's intro, with a few tweaks and changes. He didn't really get into any specifics, though.

Thanks for the info, Sarah!

The intro is the Sox' anthem, it shall never change. They always tweak the video each season to include highlight from the previous year.

By the way, to the guy who hates the into so much, he stays away from the ballpark to avoid it: how could you get tired last year of "...and the White Sox have won the World Series!"?

If you don't like video and music intros for the home team, go to the Urinal.

Brooks ought to hire you all as "Creative Consultants." There are some really good ideas here. (cept, of course the one about shortening the video). Sorry, but I couldn't get enough of "and the White Sox have won the World Series."

A few more of Brooks' comments:

"It brought chills" to him the tweaks from last year (I imagine it might have to do with the banners/rings/etc.) I hope they include what I like to refer to as Iguchi's "Matrix" move. Maybe even Crede's hackysack off the tarp.

The musical choices will remain the same. So its Harrow's Way/He's a Pirate/Thunderstruck, followed by the fireworks. Brooks says he has no problem spending money on fireworks, especially if its for home runs. :D:

For those who don't like the video or have grown tired of it, time how long it takes you to get to your seats. The video is approximately 5 minutes, 40 seconds. If it takes you ten minutes to get from your car to your seat, you know when to come in.

I do ask for all fans, however, much like the during the course of the game. If you don't like the video, remain at the top of the stairs until it finishes. I was ready to trip a few folks after being walked in front of every game. Not all of us are season ticket holders, and we might not see that vid for the first time until later in the season.

Thanks, and let's GO GO WHITE SOX!!!

I have seen that video on YouTube before. It is not the real new Sox intro. It is a video someone made just for fun.
