Does he still weigh like 300 pounds?

I watched 2 seconds of a Phils game recently and was lucky enough to watch a Karim Garcia at-bat. He proceeded to try to turn a 2 out double into a 2 out triple and got gunned down by about 12 feet. The only thing I could think was "Karim, you are a boob."

Karim Garcia is the no-talent benchwarmer who came charging out of the Detroit dugout at Sox Park in April, 2000 and blind-sided Keith Foulke with a haymaker just beneath the eye, drawing blood.

He was a piece of **** then, and he is a piece of **** now. Except now he is an unemployed piece of **** and Thank God for that.

Now if only his old manager would finally be shown the door once and for all, too...

:garner
"Listen up, **** faces! We don't take no **** from the Sox! Our guys need to pitch inside! And if anyone wants to start something, it's a $1000 fine for the last guy on my team that doesn't join the fight! GOT IT?"

:maggs
"I got to show off my nifty tae-kwon-do moves!"

:caballo
"And I was ready to bust someone's spleen!"

In these parts, Karim Garcia is a folk hero. IIRC, he's the guy the D'Backs traded to Detroit for Luis Gonzalez AND CASH.

One horrible trade for Detroit; one huge step toward the 2001 World Series for Arizona!

I remember attending a Sox game against Cleveland in which Karim Garcia was playing right field. A Sox player hit a catchable fly ball onto foul territory in right field. It would have been an extremely routine play -- he wouldn't even have had to reach into the stands or navigate by the tarp or anything -- but Garcia stopped running as soon as he realized it was going foul.

Next pitch, RBI hit. I think Cleveland traded him shortly thereafter.
