espn 2's list (http://espn.go.com/page2/s/readers/fans/worstfranchises.html)

the cubbies are #2 in the readers list and #1 in the espn list, while the sox are only honorable mentions.

but i wouldnt take the honorable mentions to heart, as the only ones that dont seem to be in it, are the teams that have won in the past 5 years. there were so many teams, i couldnt believe it, why not name all of em

Being a Cubs fan is like going on a blind date every year. At the start, you are convinced that "This is it!" But after a little teasing, you just end up crying yourself to sleep while watching SportsCenter.

that is great, describes a true cubs fan, except they have optimism until the last game, even if they are 20 games out

Aint that the truth! I'll never understand Cubs fans. Heck, I don't want to. I wish they'd all go away.
