My wife was cleaning out a closet after years of neglect, and a shopping bag that was filled with stuff from decades ago included a 1960 White Sox Yearbook. I had forgotten about it years ago.

The cover price is 50 cents and (giving away my age here) I may have been the original purchaser.

Among the amazing stats are that the Sox single-season home run record then was 29 and how few players were over 6 feet tall or more than 200 pounds. I think Fox was 5-foot-9 and Aparacio was 5-foot-8.

My girlfriends dad showed me a program he got when he was a kid from 1950s (before 1959 for sure)...it was pretty awesome

Going through the old Yearbooks and programs can be a real trip just to see some of the old advertisements for restaurants, car dealerships and radio stations. I think the oldest yearbook I have is the 1982 version (with LaRussa, Fisk, Luzinski, Ribbie and Roobard on the cover). There are some great ads in there for WMET radio (with Bruce Wolf and Kenny McReynolds) and WCLR.
