The Sox / Sports Illustrated cover train keeps rolling along.

March 15, 1976 - After stepping in at the last minute to buy the franchise and prevent them from being moved to Seattle, Bill Veeck appears on the cover of Sports Illustrated. The caption reads, "Baseball Couldn’t Shut Him Out. Bill Veeck Of The White Sox."

What stadium is he in?? Is that Comiskey? The blue and red chairs don't make it look like Comiskey, but I think I see an arched window there.

Hmm...when did they paint the seats green?

The seats have been differnt colors throughout the years. I believe they went all green by or just before the start of the 1981 season.

By the way in the early 60's, the seats were painted different colors depending on where they were located and price structure.

On Leo Bauby's Sox photos site there is a color photo of Ken Berry from 1962 and you can see the seats were painted red, blue and yellow.
