The guy who produced it posted a casting call on here in January. WSI is where all the magic happens.

I figure he'll big time Hollywood too and miss his chance at stardom.

Can I get your autograph?

Of course.

You only had to say like 5 words. Who could mess that up?

How about Wilkes riding on Steve Spurrier's back, just trampling and devouring everything in sight.

Wilkes, weren't you on the CLTV special years ago with three Cub fans chatting with three Sox fans. I remember the question being asked "what do you like about the opposing team's ballpark," and after a flub fan said the food, you or one of the other two Sox fans responded with "Sure looks like it!"

There's a ton of actors/actresses in Hollywood who get paid millions for films that have a hard time with FOUR words, much less five. :D:

Great job, its fun to be a part of local TV spots. My son was in his first commercial at 4 days old for Ingalls hospital. (Sadly, he hasn't gotten many calls, but give it time.)

Glad to see local guys getting to support their team, instead of them hiring actors who think we all sound like the Superfans.

The one in the 83 jersey.

Who is your co-star? A fellow WSIer?

He's actually a lurker at Soxtalk who has checked us out a couple times as well. Nice guy.

Great job. Can you get a local Emmy for that?

No, but I do get a "VIP tour" of the WGN studios.

But your real fame will come when you go down in history as captain of the legendary WSI Softball team.

IC, so this must be that thing where I didn't fit into either age category they were looking for (being 42, I was either "too old" or "not old enough").

Oh well, glad to see WSI is well-represented.

Here's my critique:

The other guy is too monotonous. In fact, I had trouble understanding what he said the first time I watched it.

That shot of the blank TV screen, with the ticking clock sound effect is just bizarre, and is on the screen too long.

You were pretty good in it. You had some energy, and I was able to understand what you said. I bought into you being a Sox fan. The other guy, not so much. Probably would have cast that part differently. Were there any auditions, or did they just ask you to participate based on what you wrote?

I think the blank TV was to show how barren my Soxlife has been...but yeah, it's on a bit too long.

I got the part based on a 3 sentence blurb and a 5 minute chat with the producer. Andrew is a great guy and was a ton of fun to work with in spite of his allegiance to the Cubs.

I think Wilkes and the other guy did great. Let's not over-analyze and critique a 15-second commercial with less than 10 seconds of dialogue. It's not a hollywood film.

Way to represent, Mike.
