Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced today that Hall of Famer and former Washington Nationals manager Frank Robinson will rejoin the Commissioner's Office as a Special Advisor to the Executive Vice President, Baseball Operations, effective March 5th, 2007.

Robinson, who served as Baseball's Vice President for On-Field Operations from 2000-02, will report directly to Jimmie Lee Solomon, MLB's Executive Vice President, Baseball Operations, and advise Solomon on a variety of baseball matters.

Robinson at one time passed out the suspensions for on-field incidents. It was he who handled the Detroit Tigers - White Sox incident and gave equal suspension to Magglio Ordonez and the five Tiger who were holding him down and hitting him. He also reduced Robert Fick's suspension from 5 to 3 games in spite of what Fick was doing as he was led off the field.


I thought Robinson screwed this up very badly.
