McCarthy sucks. He's gonna get lit up all year like a big sign with lots of lights that lights up really bright!

What do you predict his Texas 2007 stats to be??

I got 7-14 5.55 ERA

I predict back in the Minors by June to get his head screwed back on... The whiplash his neck is gonna get in Arlington watching homers fly out will be bad... 3-7 with a 6.05 or so mid June

I think Brandon is going to be just like he was here. Brilliant some days, horrible on others. 10-12 5.35era. He'll get a lot of run support. I wish him well though.

I hope he does really well and the trade works out for both teams. I have him down for 12 wins and a 4.40era

That sounds about right. It's amazing, when McCarthy came up in '05 people were drooling over him, now he sucks apparently. One bad year in the bullpen (and there is a difference, coming out of the bullpen hitters are more locked in) and he sucks. He's going to be a very good pitcher and so is Danks. This trade is going to work well for both teams.

You couldn't be more off. It's because he's been a whiny bitch since day one. You do not hear our bench players whining and griping about their situations, and they are veterans. He was a classless rookie, IMO.

better question

How many wins does he get against the White Sox?

better question

How many wins does he get against the White Sox?Well, based on his current spot in the Texas rotation we'll get an early look on April 17th... we don't play them again til August though... I think we knock out 7-8 HR's in the 2 potential games though

Hopefully they won't lay down and die for crappy pitchers like last year. If i had to watch the sox lose to another guy with a .500 record and 5+ era i'd go nuts

What kind of reception do you all think McCarthy will get? I'm not going to boo him or anything. nor will I give him a big ovation.

Just wondering...

Yeah, their first three starters will probably go: Millwood, Padilla, McCarthy.

I think a lot of people around here suddenly think McCarthy is going to suck because he's no longer with the White Sox. I wonder if the sentiment would be the same if he was still with the team... no, probably more kool-aid drinkers at that point.

13-7, 4.25 ERA.

No we're just using something more than stats to formulate our opinions. Do we want to see the Sox look bad by trading away a pitcher that is a lights out #1? Will McCarthy be that pitcher? Probably not.

Look at the big picture. Will McCarthy's tendency to give up the longball mesh well in the Ranger's ballpark? Probably not.

Would McCarthy's tendency to give up the longball have meshed well in the launching pad known as the Cell? Probably not.

Did we know he was such a whiny little crybaby? NO.

Everyone was rooting for McCarthy when he was wearing a Sox uniform and ignoring those facts because quite simply he was wearing a Sox uniform and we want our players to do well.

Would he have done well with us? We'll never know....but I'm willing to bet probably not.

I also do not understand why everyone has turned on Brandon. I hope he gets at least 15 wins.

Not sure why everyone suddenly turned on Mccarthy...but id say for Tex in that ballpark this year 12 wins 4.80-5.10 ERA

I dont think it is people turning on him. Personally, I didnt think he was the second coming of Cy Young like a lot of people did. Yes he pitched well at times but for the most part he didnt. I put him down for 8 wins in Texas. If he was on the Sox I might have him down for 10 if he won the 5th starter spot.

I never thought that highly of Brandon McCarthy, and will not venture a guess as to how many wins he'll have this year. I do predict that he'll have more wins that Gavin Floyd will.

I think he'll end up with about 10 to 12 wins.

Domeshot17

Im saying 13-10 4.33 era

Just because he whines doesn't make him a bad pitcher. Buehrle has a tendancy to "complain" about stuff (lights in scoreboards, pitchers doctoring balls) doesn't make him a bad pitcher.

I think Brandon is not a guy who can start OR relieve. I think he has his body trained to stretch out long, and get stronger as he goes on. This is why he HAS to start.

He won't be great in Texas (in another stadium I would peg him at 15-9) but I do think he have a better 2007 then Floyd.

That seems a little too nice on the wins and ERA part. The only reason why he will win games in double digits is because of that offense.

better question

How many wins does he get against the White Sox?

Hopefully, none.

I really don't see why people were drooling over FNOBB, all he really had was a 88-94 MPH fastball and a curveball. Which neither were that impressive.

I'm gonna say 10-12 wins with a 4.50 ERA.
