The Red Sox had a surprise visitor Monday morning as Manny Ramirez (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5132) reported to camp three days earlier than expected. Ramirez walked into the clubhouse shortly before 9 a.m. and began placing items into his locker. Ramirez's agent, Greg Genske, was in camp with Ramirez.

I must be dreaming. You mean he actually made it before they told him he had to??? :o:

Couldn't say if it's the big story on TV, but it's the top story on the espn website. :?:

Manny Ramirez could probably wait till the last week of spring training to show up, and come the regular season still belt 40 hrs and get over 100 rbis.

Yep, as much crap as this guy gets (and gives), he is one hell of a player. Come Opening Day he'll be ready to produce like he always has.

This may be true but I'm sure his presence in ST couldn't hurt anything. Maybe he could help a rookie with his swing or simply bring the team chemistry together by being there instead of being a selfish ass

... and it's STILL later than when he really should have reported in the first place.

Game, set, match!

Monday mania .. (http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/)

.Manny arrived earlier than expected ... Dice-K threw BP again ... how's that for a slow day at the Fort?

Things are finally quieting down here today. Manny left about an hour ago... as expected, he did not speak with reporters, and has given no indication that he intends to do so. Last year, he spoke once at the start of camp, and that was it. That, of course, is his prerogative, though it leaves many questions unanswered

the press conference with Manny's agent was just weird
