I KNEW IT!! I brought this up after Soxfest. The "Board of Tourism" had their own booth and were passing out t-shirts. When I checked their weird website, every link took you to whitesox.com.

When I first heard this ad campaign on the radio a few weeks ago, I didn't care for it. After seeing it in print though, I have to say it's pretty slick! Nice job, Brooks & Co. (TwoByFour?)!

The "I don't have friends" option gives you a list of White Sox players and staff: recognize any first names on the list?

If you click on one of the names, it comes back saying that they've got your message and that they'll thank you in the near future. In other words, go to the South Side and you'll be rewarded with a great time.

Saw one today with a picture of Buerhle in action and the slogan "Role Models . . . for people who like to win." Then the "Back to the Grind" logo in smaller letters underneath. Like it very much.

I love this ad campaign.

"Are there roads on the Southside."

"The short answer is yes."

"The long answer is yes, the southside has roads."

Hilarious.

"In more primitive areas of Chicago, parking spaces are provided on an ad-hoc basis by plucky local entrepreneurs. Perhaps unbelievably, this somewhat charming if irritating practice persists to this day."

Money in the bank.

Central Daylight Time is adhered to as rigidly down here as it is in the rest of Chicago. Regional anomalies, such as having a winning baseball team, have lead to a perception that the Southside is much further away than it actually is.

My favorite quote.

This website is brilliant.

I am up here in Madison WI, and I have been trying to catch the web address while listening to The Score. I was like all over believing that this was a real " Hey kids, lets do Bronzeville" site to help plan weekend jaunts to the old neighborhood. Very clever, certainly more clever than me!
