The Sox pick seats based on the order in which your order is received.

Good point aboout the date; I'll add it to my post.

However, there is a lot of fluidity about where people sit. So you might be able to be near somebody.

Hey, Dump! My first real pal at WSI! I will never forget those agonizing e-mails we exchanged almost nightly while we sweated out the 2005 season...and was it worth it or what!?!!

My brother, two friends, and I are just down the row, and I'm looking forward to chatting with you and Soxstarter at the softball game and patio party! I'm also planning on hitting that pizza place out in Morton Grove you keep raving about, prolly Friday night with some of my hometown buds.

Meanwhile, SPRING TRAINING!!! Suh-WEET!!!

You see the gang of fools sitting in front of you? I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm thinking this should be the "Skobabe8-inspired Official WSI-Fest I 2007 Seating Chart" would be more accurate.

Because there are people coming on Saturday who have never met some of us before and it makes it easier to be spotted. We did this last season and at the original Core of the Core in 2005 and it definitely helped me.

Well, it appears my fax got rejected due to being late. So, I won't be attending the patio party. However, I did score a couple of tix in section 105 row 21. If you want to stop by and say hi, I'll be that guy wearing the Sox jersey. :D:

heres a question that im just throwing out there as spectulation. there is about a 50% chance of rain around game time. So, what if there is a rain delay? is there a time where they cut the patio parties off anyway even though it hasnt reached the inning where they make us go to our seats? i was just thinking about it and am curious to find out.

You enter the patio at 4:30 CDT, you leave the patio at 6:30 CDT.

Rain, shine, death, whatever, leave the patio at 6:30. Put beers in your pockets and cheeseburgers in your socks if you so choose.

I had the task of trying to find the Windy City Sox Fans contingent, so I didn't get a chance to do much mingling. Naturally I was planning on doing some of that between innings of the game (since I keep score during the game). It was good to see the softball players, heads unbowed after their defeat at the hands of the ringers that SoxTalk dug up.

And it was also good to see Bump34. First time I've seen him since the WCSF holiday party a couple of years ago. In case you're reading this, Hey dere Dave.

Naturally August 27 is the first school day where we meet with students. It wouldn't be too cool for me to miss that day, even though it's an 11:30 dismissal. We have a district wide meeting in the afternoon. Oh, well.

Same here. Ours is a noon dismissal, but coming from the northwest suburbs, there's no way I'd make it. I was looking forward to my seat tonight- front row by the visitor's bullpen and on the end. I guess I'll be selling my ticket for that day, too!

Yeah, I was disappointed that the game was called, but stuff happens. There's that great line from that great philosopher Crash Davis: "Some days you win, some days you lose, some days it rains." Two-bit philosophy, I know, but it works.

My daughter and I, though saddened by the cancellation, also went north on Halsted but parked near 34th Street and spent the balance of the evening with a noisy group of WSI Fest refugees at Mitchell's. The beer and bonhomie flowed like water and we all enjoyed the loopy conversation and the entertaining antics of everyone.

No doubt pictures will be posted soon, incriminating each of us in turn.

Well...that was a bummer.

This game was supposed to be mine and my sis's graduation party. Fortunately, everyone made it to the patio party and had a blast. Unfortunately, there was no game. We had 60+ friends and relatives there from all over the country.

At least they didn't lose, right?

(Back in Arizona and able to post again.)

Well, that sucked, although I loved seeing all you guys at the patio party.

But to put things in perspective--when I was waiting near 35th Street for my brother to show up, I saw a bunch of people wearing white T-shirts that read (I believe) "Katie and Eric's White Sox Wedding." I'm assuming that Katie and Eric chose to hold their reception at Saturday's game. So if anyone has a reason to be pissed, it's Katie and Eric. Bummer for them!
