LOL! That's in the future. If this does well and I'm not in serious trouble by then, there will definatly be shirts by the summer. Maybe a Soxandroll\WSI shirt?

LOL! That's almost as bad as the Canadian exchange rate.

:)

The Sox switched to a black-based uniform in 1949. Those basic uniforms (the Go-Go era) lasted until 1964 when navy blue became the basic color. As RPS already pointed out, the Sox introduced the current silver & black uniforms near the conclusion of the 1990 season. These are largely based on the 50's vintage Go-Go togs, and have remained largely unchanged ever since.

Go collect!

Actually the Sox showed off their current design LATE in the 1990 season. It was during the final homestand as a matter of fact. I believe the first team they showcased them against was Minnesota.

By the way I had the chance to go to Australia in february 1987. I was in Portola Valley (North of Sydney) for 17 days staying with the Kettle's. I absolutely loved your country and had the time of my life.

It was so good I actually thought about not going back to Louisiana where I was working at the time at KNOE-TV in Monroe.

G'day mate!

I think they wore them more then just the final home stand in 90'.

Robin Ventura and Carlton Fisk wore them for publicity purposes in July. IIRC, it was just after the Turn Back the Clock Day. The plan at the time was to introduce them at the new ballpark in 1991, but the response was too favorable to wait that long. They wore them for the final homestand and the road version for the final series in Boston, too.

I know for fact rookies Frank Thomas and Alex Fernandez were wearing the script "White Sox" version after their call ups in August from the minors.
