http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070215&content_id=1803330&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb Isnt that kind of weird? Maybe one of those Spring Training experiment type of things

That is a little weird. Like it says in the article, if this affects the angle on his Curve it could really hurt him. I've seen him without his curve and he gets the **** knocked out of him. I'm just happy he is in the NL now.:dunno:

That is still odd on why he wants to change his pitching motion. I mean its not like he had a horrendous season last year and he needs to change it? Well, we'll see what happens.

Excerpt from the article:

"He's a good athlete, and to me it's all about making his pitches. If he loses his curveball ... which he could because he's throwing from a different angle now instead of straight up as before. Now he's way out there."
"We'll see," added Righetti, "how his groin is tomorrow."

Does that mean Righetti's worried the step might hurt his groin or "Barry, if you lose your curveball because of this, I'm gonna punch you in the balls."

Rotoworld said the he also added ten pounds of muscle. I can see this ending badly for the Giants, at least this season.

Zito walks too many batters. He's not worth that kind of coin.

He's probably favoring whichever side of his pants he keeps his wallet in.

Shades of George Costanza. Perhaps he should put a wad of napkins in his other pocket to balance the weight.

I think he is doing it to gain some velocity which was down last year. I was listening to XM radio and a guy who was at the Giants camp. He said that Zito was popping the ball in there pretty good with the FB, but the Curve at his new arm angle is no longer a 12-6 curve, more like 10-6. If he can perfect the new arm angle and still throw at the other arm angle, it may make him more effective. We'll see...

Star pitcher changes his motion mid-career? When did the Cubbies pick up Zito, again?
