Man, I really think this guy has some sort of ADD, about the spotlight always wanting to be on him.

* Would he ever consider a deal for less than a full season, a la Roger Clemens?:
"At some point, sure. Maybe down the road, yeah, but knock on wood, I think I'm a long way from that. ... I want to pitch Opening Day because I deserve to be the Opening Day starter, not because it's what they think is right. I want to be the No. 1 guy on this staff, and that's going to take some effort given the staff we've put together this year."

At least this stops the talk of him running for the US Senate next year.....I'm dead serious. WRKO which is a clone of WLS was abuzz last week with that idea.

That's hilarious. It would probably take some type of celeb candidate to beat Kerry. It's two years out and he's already got a huge war chest leftover from his Presidential bid.

When they were at Arizona, Schilling and Johnson feuded. Are they both jerks or is one of them worse than the other?

He must be confident that he can stay healthy. I wonder what happens if he can't, though...

He still gets paid...

He has decided to make Massachusetts his full time home and has sold his home in Arizona. He plans to stay in the Boston area when he does call it quits to focus on his new online gaming company.

That's if the Red Sox take a risk and re-sign him now. They'd be smarter to wait it out and see if he can stay healthy.

Smart and the Red Sox don't always match.

Translation: Schilling sees the crazy $$$ getting tossed around for FA pitching and thinks another year or two may not be a bad idea.

Schilling is one of the biggest tools in all of professional sports, so I wish he'd retire already.

Clemens still ranks the highest. I heard he was pitching at the Astros facility yesterday IN Astros gear and was asked about returning. Of course his answer: Not sure.

Oh he is coming back

He just doesn't know if it will be Houston, Boston or the Yankees...The Red Sox owner has been quoted that they will make a huge offer for him

I know he's coming back, but do we need to go through this "Oh I'm not sure" period for the next 4 months AGAIN. We've had it three straight years and it's firing up for another fantastic run.

Deep down, he's jealous of the attention that Matsuzaka is getting right now. I was just up in Beantown and Dice-K shirts were sitting in the back of Filene's Basement, ready to be plucked.

Schilling continues to talk and tells Dan Shaughnessey (http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2007/02/02/curt_answers_given/?page=full) what he thinks of him

"The media is the hardest part of this. There's so much of it and there's a lot of bitterness and jealousy here that doesn't exist in other places. You guys have an immense impact on the ebb and flow of the fans and their take on things. It's an ingrained part of culture here. These fans are waiting to see a guy in J.D. Drew -- who they think is going to break his toe Opening Day because of everything that's been said. Because of what's been written and what's been said. It's unfair to some guys . . . I just think there's a lot of potshots taken because it is personal. You and I have never gotten along very well."

Really? I hadn't noticed.

"I think there's things that you write that are absolutely and totally unequivocally uncalled for. I think you take personal vendettas to the paper. I think you rip people in the paper because you don't like them whether they're good people or not. As an athlete, that bothers me, but as a teammate of these people, it bothers me even more . . . I certainly came in with a little bias, but I don't think that given what's happened that it's unmerited.

Seriously, this guy has some ADD problem, otherwise he wouldn't call in talk shows all the time and have gripes with people like shaugnessey and talk to them about it.
