Same here I think Fields is going to surprise a lot of people.

I hope you're right. He strikes out way too much.

I wish Young was still a member of the Sox...

Funny. Fields was top 20 on Keith Laws list (although, to be fair, he left off the new draftees until they show they can really handle the pro system, so Luke Hochever and Andrew Miller and company didnt make the list)

Congrats to you and yours. The numbers look good, anyway.

I hope you're right. He strikes out way too much.

I can live with his strikeouts if he plays good defense, hits .275 with 30/30 homers and doubles. Quite frankly, I think he's going to be every bit as good as Crede, and possibly better. Everything I've seen of him at 3rd, tells me he can be an above average 3rd baseman.

That Fields isn't on this list just underscores the fact that SI is great for pretty pictures but just about useless for everything else when it comes to baseball.

Personally, I'd like to see a compilation of their 'hot picks' over the past 30 years and see the success rate. My hunch tells me it is overwhelmingly wrong.

Predictions are fine, but having bought and read scores of pre-season and top 100 magazines in my life, I have discovered that they are more incorrect than correct.
