I have gotten several PM's in recent weeks asking when Boston was putting tickets on sale.

Red Sox tickets go on sale Saturday, Jan. 27 (http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/content/printer_friendly/bos/y2007/m01/d23/c1784705.jsp)

I would recommend trying by phone as the ticket.com virtual waiting room is a running joke in New England.

The White Sox will be visiting Fenway on starting on Thursday July 19th and will play 4 games ending on the 22nd.

Tickets are pricey (http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/bos/ticketing/seating_pricing.jsp)

I have no idea how much these seats are priced that they just unveiled to the press today...they stole this idea from Wrigley it looks like.

seats on the Citgo sign are coming (http://2007redsox.blogspot.com/2007/01/look-what-done-to-my-park-ma.html)

--vending machines that will allow fans to by public transportation tickets, called "CharlieCards," inside the ballpark.

This is a fabulous idea. A few CTA fare machines inside The Cell would be great. A couple downstairs and one or two upstairs. The CTA has fare machines in grocery stores so why not the park? It would help reduce crowding at the stations after the game.

I suppose they wouldn't get much use in the off-season though so perhaps they could be temporary?

I've never figured out why people don't buy round trip tickets to begin with

It has gotten a lot better over the last couple years. If there was an unexpected sellout in 2005, Sox-35th station was a disaster. There were times I actually walked up to 33rd and used the auxiliary entrance because lines were literally across the street. The cops weren't letting any more people into the station.

2006 was much better but this can be attributed to several factors. The Dan Ryan reconstruction led to more people taking public transportation and the CTA was prepared. They knew crowds would be big throughout the season due to the WS win and had more trains. But I think the big thing was more people using Chicago Cards and loading their cards up ahead of time. It was hardly ever a problem with crowds last year.

But there are still those that aren't crafty enough to load the card up before the game ends. A fare machine in the stadium would get a lot of service by people in this situation, especially if they announced the machine locations between innings up on the video screen.

Hey Fen! Any suggestions on the best value seat? I'm willing to pay and will be four hours away from Boston the week before for work, but don't need the most expensive seat in the house. What sections are the best value for the buck?

If you canít afford a seat on the Citgo sign, how about $10,000 to sit in Ted William's wheelchair, and only $5,000 to have Steven King push you around:gulp:

Grandstand in Sections 9-31 for $45 is the best value.

Grandstand sections 1-8 maybe the worst seats in baseball

I tried to get tickets for the Saturday game tonight and there were only single tickets or obstructed view available... so we are going to wait and purchase them through a broker or something. I'm taking my dad out to NY during that weekend because he's never seen Yankee stadium and figured we might as well hit Fenway too!

Fenway, maybe you can answer this. I was pricing out hotel and airline prices for that weekend the Sox are in Boston. I check today and prices have almost doubled from when I checked a month ago! Is there anything going on in Boston that same weekend?
