From the Garcia trade:

The Phillies had to give up Floyd, the team's first-round draft pick in 2001, who the Cubs describe as a "late bloomer." This trade could set off a chain of events for the Phils, giving them the flexibility to release a starting pitcher for some much-needed bullpen help.1. No mention of Gio.

2. Who cares what the Cubs think about Floyd?

It also mentions that McCarthy was traded to the Rabgers.

I suspect that they meant the White Sox.

I can see how you can make that typo. I mean the C U B and S keys are so close the the S O and X keys on the keyboard.

They also spelled Rangers "Rabgers" in the McCarthy trade. :o:

Does anyone check this stuff before it goes out?

Well, they are stupid enough to do an offseason review before ST even starts, so I'd say the author isn't the sharpest crayon in the box to begin with.

It's weird seeing a bunch of our guys in different hats.

How do they get pictures of guys in different uniforms this time of year anyway? Is it a photoshop trick?

Anyone that rates Gload for Sisco as an even trade is an idiot in my book. No way is Sisco's potential worth ust Ross Gload. Even if Sisco blows on the Sox and Gload does a good job with KC, the Sox still win that trade IMO. Gload won't make any bit of a difference on the Royals and this move was a clear step backwards for them.

I also don't like the edge being given to the Rangers in the Stewart deal. Chris is a AAA catcher who will be lucky to spend a couple full years in the majors as a backup due to his lack of offense. Lujan, while he may be an even bigger longshot, at least has potential. Where did the Rangers gain anything over the Sox here?

Tough call. Gload never smiles.

Some expect Laird to be a star...I can't see how a back-up that might play 25-30 games could have the same impact as a pitcher with a good arm.

CBS Sportsline is, for good reason, not well known for their analysis. That is one of the poorer trade analysis articles I've read in quite awhile.

agreed. almost every one of those analysis my eyebrows raised in surprisement. their rating acted like stewart was a flat out steal for them. how they didnt rate sisco as a flat out steal for us is mind boggling. gload doesnt even have anywhere to play in KC. their 1b/dh are all backed up. 2 thumbs down for that article. im sad ill never get those minutes of my life back :whiner:

Grammar doesn't matter - this is the internet and things like spelling and proper punctuation has no place on the internet.

Commenting on Gio would have required research. Research is clearly a waste of time for CBS Sportsline.
