I remember watching that when it happened. Does anyone know whether that run counted or they sent Durham back to 3rd?

Nothing will ever beat 9/20/05. Mr. Crede did not let us down.

I remember watching that one too. I'm pretty sure the run counted.

Absolutely the run counts. The baserunner is awarded one base if the ball lodges in the umpires equipment.

I think DJ makes that call especially great. His "YEAHHH!" as Hawk starts his call is simply awesome.

I was at that game, we were sitting in the upper deck along the 3rd base side and I thought Payton had caught the ball at first

i was there too (LF bleachers right by where franks first homer landed) and only heard the call cuz my dad taped it, i also thought payton caught it until i saw the people in the bullpen scrambling for the ball

Me too. My favorite was one game when umpire Al Clark was at first base, and they showed a player talking with him. Wimpy chimed in and said, "yeah he's asking Al where he gets those monogrammed hats."

I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I heard that.

I never heard that call, that's because I was at the game for the first core of the core of the year. Our group was sitting right behind the A's bullpen, and the funny thing is, a few innings before that, everyone was riding Street, and my brother told him, Hey Street, you need to get a few more saves, you're on my fantasy team. When they made the call and he went out, he looked up to us, and said, I'm gonna get a save right now. And then Mack went yard.
