Last year, I believe the Yankees paid 47 million in luxury tax to the other clubs.
With them probably having a lower payroll in 2007, coupled with the dramatically increased spending among many of the other teams, should cause their luxury tax payment to go down quite a bit. Guys like Meche will cost even more than their crazy salary!
