Just what baseball needs!

Palmeiro, the highest-profile player ever to test positive for steroids, feels he's done the time and should be able to return. On Aug. 1, 2005, Palmeiro was suspended 10 games. He returned to the Orioles after the suspension but was out of baseball all of last year. The Cuban-born Palmeiro, 42, feels he can still hit.

Let's just bring them all back and start fielding an All-Roid Team. IRod at C, Jason Grimsley at P, Giambi/Raffy at 1B, Canseco/McGwire DH, Bonds LF, move Sheffield to CF, and Shammy in RF to get things started.

I suggest adding Roger Clemens, Andy Pettite, Kevin Brown in the Starting Rotation and Guillermo Mota and Juan Rincon for the BP and have Matt Lawton as a backup OF. It's kind of funny how many of these suggestions are ex or current New York Yankees. I'm sure that's just a coincidence. :redneck

His career's not over because of that. It's over because he ratted on Tejada. This just made for an easier, more convenient dismissal.

Although in truth, it's over because he's not a dominating hitter anymore. If he were, he could have had a needle sticking out of his arm when he pointed that finger in Congress and he'd be employed somewhere.

He should step to the plate, and some guy that has respect for the game (like Shilling or someone) should just bean his ass.

Towards the end of 2005, he couldn't handle being booed by fans so he wore earplugs. A hero to young and old alike.

Hey, I want to play again, but I never took drugs so that I could stay and play.

He's lucky he wasn't banned for life.

I thought ShamME did that, unless he only wore them in U.S. Cellular.

Where's Russ Springer when you need him! Remember when he practically threw every pitch at Barry Bonds last year?

On that note, here's one of the few Cub moments that I liked. Prior gave up a homerun to Bonds and then the next time Bonds stepped up to the plate, Prior drilled him. Bonds started mouthing off to Prior and Prior stepped off the mound threw down his glove and said "You want to go?" I thought that was great. I'd love to see how Ozzie had his pitchers pitch to Bonds.

If I was starting the all roid team, my pitcher wouldn't be Grimsley, he would be the trainer, I would probably start Clemens and close Mota.

What I hate is guys like him, Merriman, Sheffield saying they didn't knowingly take it, someone set them up. WAH WAH WAH WAH

Palmerio wants to play, too bad, screw him, he is a cheater, a liar, a whiner, and a finder pointer. If this was the mob, and not baseball, he would be dead already.

I'd intentionally walk Bonds' sorry ass each and every time.

I hear ya, but why lose a player over this idiot. Though I hate the IBB, at least you take it out of his hands, and he cannot do anything, especially since it will take a 3B or HR just to score him.

If he wants to play, sure.... with Canseco in the Independent League. Maybe he can be the LHP out of the pen.

Could you imagine Jose and Raffy warming up with their 55 MPH fastballs side by side?

Shortstop hole
The White Sox thought long and hard about making former Boston shortstop Alex Gonzalez an offer, because Ozzie Guillen is such a fan of his game. Now the White Sox probably wish they had. They thought Jose Uribe would be cleared in a shooting case in the Dominican Republic, but a judge ordered Uribe to make two appearances in court every month, on the 15th and 30th, which will hurt his availability.

Why won't people stop doing that?

If Sosa or Palmeiro ever play in MLB again, the owners only have themselves to blame the state of the game and fan apathy.

The league has fought back from the strike, steroids and juiced ball era so let's keep that crap in the past!

Ah, one reason I love video game baseball. Bonds (who isn't "in" the game, but the Giants have a hard slugging left fielder) Sosa, Palmerio; (and other jerks who are as rude as rude can be) get some quality ass time when I throw at their heads. Out of all the steroid users I bean? Pamerio charges the mound three times as much as the others. (Sadly, its usually John Garland who comes up in rotation when I played Baltimore.)

As much as I would like to thank Bud Selig for letting freak shows like Shammy, Palimero, and Barroid for ruining the record books, let's not kid ourselves. Donald Fehr is the ultimate reason for this crap to happen. A way of moving foward to be exact is for these idiots to be banned from baseball.
