With my pops SEC 160 ROW 2. A buddy of ours suggested moving to first base side but what can I say I absolutely love the bleachers. You are all more than welcome to attend our tailgates. My old man gets to almost every home game 2 hours before game time and last season he only missed a handful of home games. I believe he made over 83 games in all last year including road trips. I made 60 to 70 something odd games. So basically we hardly ever have extra tix.

My current seat is in section 109 (was row 3, not sure what it is now)

I have a question for the upper deckers: My uncle has asked me if there is any way to add a seat to my plan ( I currently only have one seat and attend games by myself) anyhow I contacted my rep and he said there are two seats available, but they are up stairs. My rep said that the sections are between the bases but around row 13. So I guess my question is how do you like the upper deck?

I'm a full season holder in the Upper Deck and enjoy it very much. I like being able to get a nice, overall view of the field. Tickets are cheaper and as a season ticket holder, you can access the lower level (that has been the policy for past seasons and I imagine it will continue this season). Row 13 is also under the overhang so you get some protection from the elements.

I have season tix in the upper deck in the front row right off of the Sox dugout. Great seats, great sightlines. Yeah, you are away from the action, but you can see the whole field.

There is a better food variety downstairs compared in the upper deck. But if you really miss the food that bad, you can use your season ticket to get you access to the bottom level.

Hi Brian,

We do have a few locations with two seats available, however they would be upstairs. All of the locations are pretty much the same (any section around row 13 or so). Please feel free to contact me if you would like to go over the exact locations.

Ahh the sun another reason why I will not leave my beloved bleachers. Sure sometimes when you are hungover it sucks a little but a few quick beers and all is good in the world again. I must make a note to self to remember to buy one of those things with the little rubber tubes that sprays water on you. Every year I mean to get one and every year I forget. I chose 112 over 148 because I HATE hot weather. During day games, I look back between each inning to see how close the shade is getting. Once the shade hits, I'm in Heaven. During April and some May day games where it is cold, I'll move to the sun, but for the rest of the season, I love my location.

Last year, I went to the Bears'/Falcons' game where the wind chill was -8 and only my feet got a little bit cold. I guess I'm an Eskimo at heart.

I don't know that it's only my row. There's usually plenty of heckling coming from my row and the lower rows of section 160. I'm not sure about the Dick Allen jersey. If you're referring to the red pinstripe jerseys, that's a Wilbur Wood jersey.

Those guys are total jag bags. They get drunk all the time and probably heckle our players more than opponents.

Baines, where do you sit? I'm one of those jag bags you mentioned and I believe you need to think about what you're gonna say before you post it. The other guys are diehard fans and are on WSI as well.

There's nothing wrong with having a few cocktails and heckling opposing players. The opposing CF and LF deserve to hear it nonstop out there. But every once in a while Pods needs some motivation too - do you have a problem with that? I didn't realize that the bleachers were becoming so soft...Maybe you need to switch sections or bring a radio so you don't have to hear it. Or maybe you should sit with us, have a beer, and listen to who we're actually heckling for once.

By the way, we're in sec 161, rows 2 and 3, I think we've got seats 6-10 in both rows.

Jen - that is a blue Dick Allen jersey he wears every game. I don't know who the Wilbur Wood in that area is...one of the guys wears the red pinstripe Allen jersey sometimes so maybe that's what you're thinking of.

They deserve it because they're playing against the Sox. Heckling is a part of the game, always has been. If you can take their focus off the game for a while, then you've done your job.

We always keep it clean too - we know there are kids around. I do understand not everyone enjoys hearing a little trash talk though...

Agreed. Hell, I doubt they even hear the crowd...not that they can't literally hear us, but they probably tune us out pretty well.

Case in point: mid-sept '05 when we were playing CLE at home (the night before the crede hit a walkoff), we were down like 5-0 and my cousin and I were heckling blake a LOT in right. Fly ball hit to him, he's running back, my cousin yells BLAKE YOU SUCK! as the ball bounces off his glove. We rallied back after that but lost 7-5. My cousin would like to attribute Blake's poor play to our heckling, but I highly doubt it factored into anything.

As one of the Dick-Allen-jersey-wearing residents of Section 161, Row 2, I can attest that the players can indeed hear us. Not that it is necessarily something of which we should be proud, but we have:
--gotten the finger from Griffey
--gotten the 2 finger salute from Joe Carter (indicating his 2 WS rings)
--gotten the finger from Rickey Henderson
--gotten similar obscene gestures from Michael Tucker, Moises Alou, Torii Hunter, Jacques Jones, Albert Belle (when he played for Cleveland), Coco Crisp
--had Manny Ramirez grab his posterior (we were commenting on his uniform)
--gotten many dirty looks from too many other players to list here.

We do like to enjoy a cold beer or two on a hot summer evening and we may be loud, but we do keep our heckles clean. We are always cognizant of those around us. In fact, we have come to know the majority of those sitting in our area in the soon-to-be 14 years that we have held those seats. We also strive to be somewhat creative in our heckling (of course, the old "...you suck" does hold a place near and dear to our hearts). For all of the obscene gestures that we have gotten from players, we have gotten just as many smiles and laughs.

I salute you all. Keep the heckling going in 2007! :gulp:

I have never heard you guys say anything to our players really. Keep on Keepin on.

No, that's my brother. I usually sit next to him. I try to maintain more of a low profile.

Standing up to visibly give our players a hard time as they come out to their positions between innings and then drunkenly arguing with surrounding fans who take issue with your look-at-me antics is more selfish bafoonery than anything. But you're probably proud of the looks of disgust you draw from our own players.

Excuse me? State a specific example please. I don't think we've ever done that. It sounds like you've got the wrong group buddy.

I think the people here that know these two rows of guys will all say that you don't know what the **** you're talking about. I've seen other drunken idiots act like that at Sox games, but certainly not us. Get your facts straight before talking **** Baines.

I'll take a timeout, and have deleted my posts in this thread. I would just add that I hope I don't see the same nonsense in 2007 from whoever I saw in the front couple rows of the left field bleachers repeatedly acting like jag bags to our own players in 2006.

I have to agree. The only thing I have heard from that area is So and so you suck. That is it. Once in a while I see the Dick Allen blue jersey guy stand up in between innings but I have not seen them get out of hand.

I certainly have no desire to begin yet another debate about whether or not booing your own players is acceptable. I would have to say, though, for someone taking a time out, the above was a rather inflammatory post.

I'm in 158 but never sit there. My group did the upgrade but we had 4 different accounts and now we're spread out all over the park. I just hang out where our biggest "faction" happens to be for that particular game.

I just buy tickets from the holders who can't use them. Usually I get about 20 a year so I'm spread out all over the park.

The 150's and 160's usually have pretty cool people in them that we meet.

Very nice. haha I've not gotten anything back yet...maybe right fielders have a different mentality than C/LF.... :redneck DeRosa's glances at us when we were in the front row in the Sports Bar weren't very nice, but he never gestured or laughed. He gave us a little payback for our heckling when he ran into the fence (and into us) on a near-tadahito homer. :(: (FYI those fences have a lot more play than you'd imagine! hahaha)
