CLEVELAND -- Keith Foulke (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5817) wants to be a closer again. The Cleveland Indians (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/clubhouse?team=cle) will give him the chance.

The free agent reliever finalized a $5 million, one-year contract with the club Thursday, a deal both sides hope turns into a longer partnership.

So, now they have signed Foulke, Joe Borowski, and Roberto Hernandez. Ooh that's a scary bullpen.:redneck

Who'll close for the Red Sox, since there's talk of Paplebon starting? Timlin didn't fare too well in the pen, and I highly doubt DelCarmen or Hansen will be figured in this.

$5 million is completely insane. What is Cleveland doing?

They would have been better served giving that money to Grady Sizemore and letting him go on a week-long bender in Vegas, just to keep him happy.

Signing Foulke might have made sense, but $5 million is yet another argument for a salary cap in this sport. Save teams from themselves.

I remember Cleveland fans making fun of us because of the number of ex-Indians the Sox have signed over the years. Both Alomars, Belle, Thome.

Looks like they have a thing for ex-Chicago closers. They also had Howry at one time didn't they?

The Indians will still have a potent offense, but they will have their problems in the pen. Reason #1 I don't fear them.

I actually really like what the indians have done this off season. 5 million for foulke is a bit high i cant believe he got that much, but there pen looks a lot better to me. Well see how borowski adjusts to the al, but to me our biggest competition is the indians for sure
