Well that came out of nowhere.
Mets signed RHP Jorge Vasquez, RHP Lino Urdaneta and LHP William Collazo to minor league contracts and invited them to spring training.
Urdaneta and Collazo are being re-signed. Vasquez, 28, spent time in the majors with the Royals in 2004 and the Braves in 2005. He had a 2.22 ERA and an 87/28 K/BB ratio in 65 innings while being left in Double-A all year long by the Pirates in 2006. He could be an adequte 12th pitcher given another chance.
Maybe THIS will teach some of you to spell Javy's last name correctly! :tongue:
