After talking about the Sisco trade, Williams said another roster move is likely to be announced today. The GM predicts it’ll be publicly received with little fanfare.

“We think it’ll be a big move internally,’’ Williams said. - Daily Herald (http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/story.asp?id=260992)

What is the "big move?"

My hope is that Sandy retires to be a coach for the Sox. I don't want to see him as the backup catcher.

They DO need a bullpen catcher.

No they don't. Mark Salas has already been named to that position. (http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20061205&content_id=1752109&vkey=news_cws&fext=.jsp&c_id=cws)

I don't want to see Alomar anywhere in the organization, myself. He didn't "cure" Mark Buehrle, and he and AJ didn't hit it off, so his value to the organization was nil, as far as I'm concerned. Let him walk.

And I think that all the coaching slots are filled, anyway.

I wonder if the move was the Toby Hall one the score was announcing (according to another clubhouse thread)

that probably is it cause Kenny said it wasn't going to be a BIG move. He stated it would be considered a smaller move for the public, but more of a big move internally.

I think Alomar would be a fine addition. He's a smart guy and could be the special organization wide catcher's coach.
