This article sounds pretty confident something was going to happen, but doesnt offer any real possibilities. I wonder if this just more smoke up the a$$.

The White Sox, for instance, desperately need a speedy leadoff hitter and might be willing to shop center fielder Brian Anderson, but O'Dowd said the Rockies aren't interested.
Sounds like a writers opinion to me. No real news here at all.

Looks to me as if the Sox just got another competitor in the Baldelli "sweepstakes" (to the extent there can be sweepstakes for that guy). Maybe TB isn't crazy to think they can get two top pitching prospects for him.

I fail to see the connection between what the article mentions, what the GM said, and us getting anything. If anything, it says "we're not interested in what the sox have"....:?:

But unless they got Tavarez for cheap, I'm not that interested in him, either.

I don't think you have to worry about him now. The Rockies aren't going to the WS anytime soon.

5-15, .333, slugged .600, OPS of .933--I'm sure a lot of Astros wish they hit like that in that series.

and if they had done that then it wouldn't be completely ridiculous to say a player from the Astros "killed" us.

You know, like if they had even won a single game...

"If you can't stand the heat..."

Besides, in spite of the petty arguing, off-topic rants and wild rumors, this is way more Sox discussion than you will get from the "mainstream" media.

Oh, wait I forgot. Jason Hirsh is going to win 26 games, the Cy Young, Rookie of the Year and lead the Rockies to a world title.

He's got some serious flaws. The Rocks can have him. I'd rather see the Sox get Baldelli or (do it Kenny!) Ichiro.

"They could dangle Taveras, who has been the No. 1 offseason target of the White Sox and Marlins, or they could see what the market will bring for Cory Sullivan or Ryan Spilborghs. "

I can't figure out why we would want Willy TAveras....he's a swing at everything player, with a poor OBP and zero power....aka a bad hitter. But, we seem to be shopping Anderson and Ozzie is the one who chose to play Rob M over Anderson far more often than I would have litked. We'll see.
