Very tragic. RIP
I always remember his name because Hawk several times would refer to Juan Uribe as "...JOSE URIBE with a 2 run bomb." and never would correct himself.

Also Berman nickname, Jose "Game Winning" Uribe.
I had no idea that Juan is/was Jose's son. My condolences, Juan.

That's tragic. Condolences to the Uribe family. Despite the tough offseason, us Sox fans still support Juan 100%.

I know it says that in the article, but is that right about Jose being Juan's father? You never hear anyone talk about it in a sport which is always talking about father son connections.
Edit: On the Score, they said he was a distant cousin.

I always thought it was his uncle?

Yeah, I don't think that is correct about Juan being his son either. I've never heard that mentioned ever before the little mention in this article. Seems unlikely for some reason. I don't think there's any mention of it in the baseball encyclopedia, and they always mention brother or father-son links in there.

Second cousin. Juan and Jose are from the same town.

Cringe. Thanks for reason #2,345 to hate Berman.
