The Holiday Season approaches and December has had a number of significant dates in White Sox history including the first direct deal between the Sox and Cubs, the trade that 'saved' the franchise in the early 1970's, the return of Bill Veeck, and some of the best and worst (Hello...Ron Santo!) trades the Sox ever made.

December 1, 1964 - The Sox trade pitcher Frank Baumann to the Cubs for catcher Jimmie Schaffer. It was the first time the two Chicago clubs ever made a direct trade with each other.
