That's $11 million more than Ichiro commanded.

26 million for a #3/#4- which is what the Yankees will use him as, but I predict he won't win any more than 14 games next year and his ERA will be the mid or high 4's.

Sounds like our entire staff last year.

Just as well....

I'd be pissed if the Sox "won" negotiating rights with anyone

They should also show JD's next at-bat against him... when he launched a 475 foot concourse shot...

New York's offer of $26,000,194 -- the last three digits matching his strikeout total this year

God, the Yankees are so lame. The front office probably giggled like a bunch of 12 year old girls when they came up with this.

Igawa's pitches were on full display this month at the Japan All-Star series and he did not impress scouts, giving up two runs with six walks in six uneven innings against Major League Baseball's team.

David Wright crushed a pitch over the leftfield wall, and the NL scout said, "I've never see a ball hit that far in that facility."

More reason for ESPN to create a lovefest for this rivalry. Now they'll extend it all to Japan.

is it bad that i want the yanks to get the better end of the deal when i comes to the pitchers from japan? wouldnt it be funny that they spent half as much?
