Hey everyone,

I haven't posted in quite a while after posting rather regularly a couple years ago. Back then I promised to post Hawk's call of Ben Davis driving in Timo Perez from first on a double in a game vs. Cleveland back in August of '04. Well, two years later here is the clip. Enjoy!

EDIT: This is much easier to play

P. S. I have some others I'll post when I find some time.

Weird! That was the only Sox game I went to in 04. The game got tied at 2-2 from a Victor Martinez solo homer right?

Yep, I too was there. I went from very angry at Damaso Marte for giving up the bomb to ecstatic that BEN DAVIS drove in TIMO. Good times...

That game is kind of overrated. I mean, it really didn't mean anything because the season had pretty much been pissed away at that point. Watching it live, I was kind of ticked off thinking where was this magic two weeks ago or so when you guys were still in the damn race? Then again I'm not a happy person. :o:

The call is an all-time classic, but the game meant jack.

It's totally all about the call. We were all yelling it at each other for weeks afterwards. Of course, my co-workers had no idea what it meant and thought that I had finally lost my mind. I had to have a "conversation" with my manager, but that's a story for the Parking Lot!

I disagree batman, we were 6.5 games out at the time, and needed a win in the worst way to stay in the race. This was the day after Shingo blew his first save, and I know I felt we were still in it because I was going nuts when Robbie Alomar and Uribe hit huge HR's to tie and take the lead of the Indians before Shingo gave up the 3-run HR to Lawton. We needed that win, and Ben Davis came up huge and kept us in the race for another day remaining 6.5 games out. Also, I have a video of the clip I can post when I get home from school.

My favorite was when he hit a HR to beat the Tigers in 2004, and all Hawk yelled was "GAME!" (not even including his routine HR call).

I miss listening to Hawk every night I'm not at the game!

Ahh, I remember the "C'mon Timo!" game well. I also remember watching the guys on SportsCenter during the highlights joking that Hawk is "known for his nuetrality." That's Hawk at his best.

July 24, 2004. DJ made the "Game" call actually. That was also the last day the Sox were in first place in '04.

That game put them 10 games over .500 and 1/2 game ahead of Minnesota, and I'm pretty sure they lost the next 7 in a row.

You are correct. That season went from good to bad in a week. Thank God Hawk made it exciting at times. Then we won the World Series in 05.

I remember this one very well. Jason Johnson started for DET and we couldn't get nothing off him for a few innings, then he just lost it. I think he walked a bunch of guys too.

Didn't Crede hit a GS in this game?

Then the next day, the Sox were pounded and played like **** for about a month.
